Yesterday at church I did something that, when I think about it now, I haven’t done in about 4 years…I sat and watched. Usually if the band is not out leading, I’m either playing or singing with the praise team at church. Yesterday, however, I didn’t play drums or sing with the praise team, I just sat with Ashley and sang with the congregation. It was absolutely awesome. I’ve got to do this more often. I think a few things came out of it:
-I got to listen and appreciate what a great band and praise team our church has. I guess I take it for granted because I’m always up there but they sounded great. And as an added bonus, we just brought on a violin player which added a tremendous touch to the sound!
-I was able to sit and sing/worship with Ashley…unusual for us because of previously mentioned reasons.
-I felt recharged. So many times, when your playing these great worship songs you just “play” them and don’t tune in to the message. The gospel is so timeless. We sang songs that I’ve heard so many times but they spoke to me in different ways because I wasn’t thinking of the set list, the next song transition, we will sell decent tonight, etc. Like Zack has been teaching us in our devotion times, we really need to stop and listen to God more.
Don’t get me wrong, I love playing and being in the lead worship team but I think this is something I need to do more of when I’m home at our church. I have had this conversation a few times with other friends who are on the road in Christian music and have said how we want to just participate sometimes…It felt great to finally do that.
I have noticed that the blog still gets a good amount of traffic even though it has recently been a “Will update blog”…which is fine with me. I guess that happens when you have something totally change your life as Will has…it has been awesome and I will continue to use this blog for Will updates because our families love them. That being said, I have a few band updates for you…
Even with the down economic times and a few show cancellations, Four Days Late has some exciting things going on that I wanted to bring everyone up to speed on:
We have a blog here that we update A LOT. We have really tried to step up the amount of posts that we do on the blog and have also been adding cool behind the scene type photos lately as well. So, if you subscribe to this blog, do me a huge “solid” and go subscribe to the FDL blog.

Just call Jonathan at Indie Community by phone at 205-533-9410 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. There is an open Georgia date and I have been waiting for a long time for someone or some churches in Fitzgerald to step up and bring us down to my hometown…we shall see!

We are in the pre-production, writing phase of our new recording that we are going begin on this summer with producer, Jason Hoard. Jason is awesome and we are so excited about making music with him at the helm…should be great. More updates on this will follow soon.
Well, that should catch you up on Four Days Late…thanks for reading. Hope you can take action on a few of these items. We will now return to our regularly schedule WILL programming!
Will is doing great and growing fast. He’s becoming more and more alert, sleeps through the night and smiles a whole lot. It’s been really neat for me because when I come home from work or being on the road for few days, he smiles the first time he sees me…makes me feel so good. We are having a ball with him.
I think I am going to have to agree with my pastor and say that our church is in revival. We haven’t announced revival but it has begun. God has been really moving in our services and is doing some great things within the people of our church. If you live in the Gadsden, AL area…come visit.

Thanks so much for your prayers for the Brittain family.
….come join us!!
Since I love mascots so much I thought I would highlight some of my all time favorites…
Everybody loves The Famous Chicken. He is probably the most popular of all time. Don’t you just love it when he takes his beaks and turns them in the opposite direction.
The Phillie Phanatic is hilarious…He has probably dealt the MLB umpires more grief than any other mascot.
I promise I’m not being partial…but I love Hairy the Dawg. He’s one of the best and I used to love seeing him at the games when I was a kid.
…perhaps more to come.
