big game.

October 27, 2008

Our defense needs to play their best game so far. I think we will score some points…should be a great game. We really need this win!

big time catch-up.

October 23, 2008

This blog has begun to look like I have put it out to pasture…ah, but I have not. This has been a super busy month in every aspect of my little world. The band has been gone like crazy winding up our year and we have been doing a lot of doctor’s visits in prep for the soon to be arriving William -insert middle name here- Stapleton…all of which have gone well. Ashley is really in that “I’m tired of being pregnant” stage. Her back has been killing her and I am predicting that our doctor visit next tuesday will mark the beginning of her maternity leave from work…it’s coming. Honestly, I kinda want her at home chilling out for a few weeks before the big day…she’s been a trooper.

We had a baby shower here at our church and also one in Fitzgerald…both were great. Things like these remind you of how much you are loved and cared for. We were blown away at everyone’s generosity. I never knew you had to have so many things for something so small.

And, in the middle of all this we have…the election. I am ready for this to be over, honestly and am tired of all the blah, blah from everyone involved.

Lastly, I am making my yearly trek through the entire “Friends” DVDs…currently on Season 3.

fireproof.

October 6, 2008

Sunday after morning worship our sunday school class went to see “Fireproof”, the new movie from Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Ga…my idea, by the way. Anyway, the movie was great and I really think that what this church is doing is really, really cool. Who would have ever thought that a church making movies based on the christian faith would be playing in theatres nationwide…how awesome is that.

I thought the movie was great and even better than their previous movie, “Facing the Giants”…probably because there were more professional actors like Kirk Cameron in this movie. Now, not all the actors are professional and there are some who are sub-par but the message of the movie is what is central and is the real star of the film. We all came away saying that all married couples should see this together. I especially enjoyed hearing songs in the movie from some of my favorite CCM artists like John Waller, Casting Crowns and Warren Barfield.

So grab your wife or anyone for that matter and go check this movie out and support this awesome ministry this church has. Keep in mind that the more successful their movies are, the more they will be able to make and the better the movies will be.

parenting class.

October 6, 2008

This past Saturday Ashley and I went to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham (where we are having our child) and participated in the day long parenting class. It was interesting to say the least. The class was informational and detailed if you know what I mean. The morning session was mainly about child birth, the signs of labor and of course the infamous birth video in all it’s glory. Right after the video, which was not bad at all, all the moms in the room were wiping tears away…it was very sweet to see the parents with their newly born child. It really hit home that we will soon be doing this ourselves.

I think the part I learned the most about was newborn care. I didn’t know you couldn’t just take a baby’s clothes off and bath it…apparently you have to keep them wrapped up and clean one area at a time. Glad I learned that. It was a cool day to learn a little more about what is coming our way.

not sure.

With all the recent drama over the $700 billion bailout everyone seems to have an opinion. Well, guess what…I don’t have one really. I do think that it is probably necessary to save our tail but it stinks that its come to this point. So, there in lies my non-opinion, er, opinion. It did pass congress so we’ll see what happens next. If you have an opinion…by all means, share it the comments section.
